My Places
My place is on the couch,
glass of merlot in hand,
ready for the catharsis
of a Lifetime movie
_____________________________
My place is in the voting booth
the paper ballot in the slot,
my tiny voice a part
of the process
_______________________________
My place is behind the lens
focusing close,
on birds and bugs,
as the purple morning glory climbs nearby

My place is on the path,
each step bringing
wonder and wisdom,
moving forward in life

My best place is beside you,
both in our porch chairs,
coffee cups empty,
reminiscing and planning
Betty, this is a delayed response to your Natural Musings post. I liked the poem and see you in each of your “places”. I interpreted the last stanza as a love poem to Dan and was touched by it. Thanks. Abrazos, Marcia

Thank you Marcia! I am in an online poetry group and the prompt for May was “Places”…I decided to share it in my blog too. And my husband’s birthday happens to be in late May…so it served many purposes!
